The Hematology Laboratory Unit is the premier hematology laboratory in Bhutan, functioning as a referral center for hematological disorder confirmation across the nation. Equipped with advanced technology, the unit provides reliable, high-precision laboratory investigations around the clock.

- Complete Blood Count (CBC): Comprehensive blood analysis using a 5-part Sysmex XS-1000i analyzer for accurate results.
- Specialized Hematology Tests: Includes tests conducted on a coagulation analyzer, ESR analyzer, and flow cytometer.
Teaching & Training
The Hematology Section also serves as an educational hub for hematology studies under the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan, offering practical learning and specialized training opportunities.
Quality Assurance
- External Quality Assurance Program (EQAP): Quarterly participation in the NEQAS (UK) and PPTC (New Zealand) programs to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in test results.
