Key Activities
Ultrasonography:
- Performed to confirm pregnancy and detect any potential complications.
Comprehensive Assessment:
- History Taking: Initial questions and health history recorded in the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook.
- Physical Examination: General and thorough physical examination.
- Routine Laboratory Tests: Blood and urine tests conducted as standard procedure.
- Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT): Counseling and testing services offered.
Client Registration:
- Registration is completed once all necessary reports are submitted, with data recorded in the MCH booklet. CID may be requested to verify client information accurately.
Health Education:
- Regular education sessions provided for expectant mothers and attendants on pregnancy care, health practices, and lifestyle adjustments.
Birth and Emergency Planning:
- Development of personalized birth and emergency plans to ensure preparedness.
Follow-Up Visits:
- Guidance on the frequency and schedule of follow-up visits, individualized for each patient.

Ideal Time to Enroll: Enroll as soon as possible after a missed period, ideally between 8-12 weeks of pregnancy.
Important Information During Pregnancy
Recognizing Danger Signs
Pregnant women and their families should be aware of the following signs that require immediate medical attention:
- Vaginal bleeding
- Loss of consciousness or seizures
- Severe headache or blurred vision
- Severe vomiting or abdominal pain
- High fever
- Abnormal fetal movements (no movement, excessive movement, or reduced movement)
- Labor lasting over 12 hours
- Leaking membranes
Recommended Supplements
- Iron and Folic Acid: Taken once or twice daily after meals with water (avoid calcium, tea, coffee, or milk during intake for better absorption).
- Vitamin C: 50 mg once daily.
- Calcium: 1000 mg once daily.
ANC Support Services
Ultrasonography (USG)
Performed routinely three times during pregnancy, with additional scans if complications are suspected.
- 1st Scan: At the first visit (after missed period)
- 2nd Scan: 18-24 weeks
- 3rd Scan: 36-40 weeks
Routine Laboratory Testing
- Blood Tests: Blood grouping (ABO, Rh), RPR/TPHA, HBsAg, Hb{d897843276d4604cf38b20f0dba6bc80514de3b08f8695a992ca4221d030cc78}, and HIV.
- Urine Tests: Screening for albumin and sugar levels, with mid-stream urine sample.

Consultation and treatment available for all pregnancy-related issues, providing comprehensive support for expectant mothers.
