Screening Services Provided
Pap Smear Screening
Purpose
To examine cells from the cervix and vagina for signs of cancer or precancerous changes.
Eligibility
- Recommended for all women aged 20-60.
- Women who have had hysterectomies (especially if due to cancerous or pre-cancerous cells).
- Women with weakened immune systems.
- Elderly women who have never undergone a Pap smear.
Procedure
- A pelvic examination is conducted, taking about 5 minutes.
- Cells from the cervix are placed on a slide, dried, and sent to the lab.
Frequency
- Initial screening includes two Pap smears taken six months apart.
- If both results are normal, a screening every three years is recommended.
- Abnormalities may require more frequent screenings as advised by healthcare staff.
Report
- Available for collection after 3 weeks.

- Monday to Friday: 9 AM to 3 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM to 1 PM
- Closed on Sundays and government holidays
Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA)
Purpose
Screening to visually inspect the cervix for abnormalities.
Eligibility
Recommended for women aged 30-45.
Procedure
- A simple, non-invasive pelvic examination.
- The cervix is painted with 5{d897843276d4604cf38b20f0dba6bc80514de3b08f8695a992ca4221d030cc78} acetic acid, and observations are made with a speculum.
- VIA results are correlated with Pap smear findings; if abnormalities are detected, colposcopy may be scheduled.
Frequency
- If results are negative, the test is repeated every three years.

- Immediate results.

Colposcopy
What is it?
A diagnostic procedure using a low-power microscope to closely examine the cervix for any abnormal growths or tumors.
Purpose
A follow-up for abnormal findings on Pap smear or VIA, helping pinpoint sources of abnormal cells and confirming diagnoses with a biopsy.
Eligibility
- Women with abnormal Pap smear or VIA results.
- Symptoms like continuous spotting, post-coital or post-menopausal bleeding, or chronic vaginal discharge.
Procedure
- A pelvic examination is conducted, typically lasting 10-15 minutes.
- The cervix is examined with saline and 5{d897843276d4604cf38b20f0dba6bc80514de3b08f8695a992ca4221d030cc78} acetic acid, and findings are documented for future reference.
Report
- Available after 3 weeks.

- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 AM to 3 PM.
